Guided Summer Activities 2010

In conjunction with Wilderness Sports, who have been operating in the area for more than 25 years, we are pleased to offer the following guided activities which are designed to introduce families and small groups to the Australian Alps via safe, well informed activity. Please note that bookings are required 48 hours in advance and are subject to weather and availability.

Half Day Walk
Great Introductory walk in the mountains. Short and sweet without too much distance to get a feel for the mountains and learn that there is so much more to do here.
This would be walks like the Waterfall Track (poor weather option) which is an 8 km circuit through treed areas so a good option in poor weather and shelter still enables a nice day in the outdoors. In better weather and an “active” group we would look @ heading out to the Gills Knob and return via Consett Stephens Pass making a loop back to Guthega. Alternately a trip from Guthega up to Mount Tate for panoramic views of the Main Range.

Full Day Walk
Great Introductory walk in the mountains with a knowledgeable guide to introduce you to what could be a lifetime of adventure & walking in the Snowy Mountains. There is plenty more to discover and we will show you where to get started.
A leisurely tour out to Blue Lake and a loop around returning to the Snowy River crossing via Headley Tarn. A challenging trip off trail from Guthega up onto Tate East Ridge and on to Mt Tate for views over the Grey Mare Range and to Jagungal Wilderness. An alternate route rarely visited up Consett Stephens Pass and maybe clambering up to Mount Tate & Anderson for spectacular views into the Geehi Wilderness and over the Grey Mares Range towards Jagungal and unique vista’s of the Main Range.

Family Abseil – ½ Day
Great Introductory adventure in the mountains. Fun and some thrills in a safe environment.

Combination Abseil/Climb – ½ Day
Great Introductory adventure in the mountains.
Fun and some thrills in a safe but challenging environment .
Adventure Combo – Walk and Climb – Full Day
Great Introductory walk in the mountains that includes a little more variety and adventure. Vista’s and some thrills with introduction to new skills. Great for the Family.
