Aeropelican (affiliated with Qantas Frequent Flyer) Provides a daily winter service connecting Sydney with Snowy Mountains Airport near Cooma. (approx 3 hours total)

Aternately guests can fly to Canberra via Qantas and Virgin.

By Car

The Snowy Mountains is located half way between Sydney and Melbourne. Travelling by car is most convenient and also the most gratifying as the mountain scenery is breathtaking.

From Sydney: From Sydney it is an easy drive down the Hume Expressway.
Before reaching Yass, turn left for Canberra/Cooma and follow the signs to Cooma. Upon leaving Cooma take the Kosciuszko Road to Jindabyne and continue toward Perisher Valley. Approximately 20 km from Jindabyne turn right into Guthega Road and follow the beautiful Snowy River to Guthega Village.

From Melbourne:  Take Highway One through Gippsland turning in at Cann River to the Monaro Highway and Bombala and then on to Cooma. This should take about seven hours Or continue on to Merimbula and Bega and take the Snowy Mountains Highway up Brown Mountain to Nimmitabel and onto Cooma and Jindabyne. This route is slightly longer and you should allow an extra two hours Alternatively you can drive the Kosciuszko Alpine Way via Khancoban to Jindabyne.Turning left onto Koscuszko Road and then right into Guthega Road.
This is approximately an eight hour drive from Melbourne.

From the West leave the Hume Highway and travel through Tumut and Talbingo on the Snowy Mountains Highway to Adaminaby and on to Cooma. The journey from Tumut to Cooma takes approximately 2 1/2 hours.Then follow the Kosciuszko Road through Jindabyne toward Perisher Valley and turn right into Guthega Road which follows the upper Snowy River to Guthega Village

Other routes include the Elliot Way from Tumbarumba to Cabramurra and the spectacular Cabramurra to Khancoban Road which is only open in summer
